FKA Twigs

An artist I can't stop playing recently is FKA Twigs. (Quite literally obsessively hitting the replay button that I'm close enough to approaching the hate zone). Also known as Tahliah Debrett Barnett, she performs magical-unconventionally-catchy pop songs with whispery vocals. FKA Twigs (Formerly Known As Twigs) released her debut album, LP1, in August this year to high critical acclaim and praise.
She was influenced by the likes of Billie Holiday and Marvin Gaye, however her own music is not necessarily resemblances of these influences. Describing herself, Tahliah says: "I am not restricted by any musical genre. I like to experiment with sounds, generating emotions while putting my voice on certain atmospheres... I like industrial sounds and incorporating everyday life's sounds like a car alarm".
Personally, I would say FKA Twigs is quite similar to the artists: Banks, Sampha, SOHN and Jamie xx. If you haven't already, go check her out! Some of my favourite songs of hers are Two Weeks, Lights On, Video Girl and Pendulum (there's too many favourites).
