Following on from my previous post, Fashion Bloggers, this post is another commenting on a show I found on E!: 'House of DVF'. This show was basically a competition between about 20 girls to battle it out (not literally) to become DVF's new brand ambassador. From running errands, directing photo shoots, modelling, creative designing, styling, sale advising and helping ensure the DVF s/s15 show ran smoothly, it wasn't an easy ride. Plus, the actual concept that your boss and person you're mainly trying to impress is no other than Diane Von Furstensberg, only adds to the slight pressure of competing for brand ambassador on a worldwide television program. Whenever a girl would mess up and Diane wouldn't be impressed with their work, they would be called for the dreaded 'lunch' and usually henceforth would be eliminated for the running in becoming the next brand ambassador, yet they would leave with a nice lil' DVF goodie bag (slight win, I suppose).
In the end it came down to Kier, Amanda and Brittany. All rather different in skills and experience and most definitely in personality. Yet to be fair, it was never going to be Kier, the girl had been referred to through almost entirety of the program as the 'bitch', by DVF herself no less. However, I did quite like Amanda, the pretty girl-next-door, yet only came out of her shell towards the end but did prove to many of the DVF team she was worthy contender for ambassador. Although, at the end the winner was... Brittany! Pretty, smart, already an established stylist, and determined to impress, she seems like the perfect fit! I cannot wait to see her representing DVF over the next year and then see were she transforms on from that, good luck Brittany.
Post update!!!: During our FCP trip to NYC, we actually met one of the candidates from the show, Lenore, who was offered a job at DVF (before being eliminated). We also got a chance to talk to her and she was lovely enough to give us some advice on how to succeed and tips for the industry and what she's planning on next! p.s most amazing trip ever!
